A small, honest football management sim you play right in your browser. No account, no install, no server — just you, a club, and a season to steer. Built with fictional clubs and players so it can grow into something bigger without licensing baggage.

This is the first public demo (v0.1). It is intentionally small, but it is a complete loop: start a career, set your tactics, play out matches, climb the table, finish the season, and carry your story into the next one. I would rather ship a tight, finished slice than a pile of half-features — so everything listed below actually works end to end.

What you can do in v0.1

Start a career

  • Create a manager, enter your name, and pick a club from the Meridian First Division (a fictional league).
  • Each club shows its squad size, average player rating, and reputation so you can choose your challenge — take a title favourite or a plucky underdog.
  • Your career is saved locally in your browser. Close the tab and pick up later from the Continue screen, or reset and start fresh whenever you like.

Manage your squad

  • Browse your full squad and open any player's profile.
  • Each player has a position, age, an overall rating, and a set of attributes grouped into Technical (Finishing, Creativity, Composure), Physical (Pace, Stamina, Work rate) and Defensive (Tackling, Positioning) — plus Goalkeeping for your keepers.
  • Profiles also track condition/fitness, discipline (yellow cards and suspensions), injuries (type and return date), and current-season appearances and starts.

Set your tactics

  • Choose from three formations: 4-4-2, 4-3-3, and 4-2-3-1.
  • Pick your starting XI slot by slot, and assign each player a role (holding midfielder, playmaker, box-to-box, target forward, advanced forward, sweeper keeper, and more).
  • Tune your team's approach with Mentality (Cautious / Balanced / Attacking) and Pressing, Tempo, Defensive line, and Pass risk (Low / Medium / High).
  • In a hurry? Auto-fill picks a sensible lineup for your formation in one click.
  • The AI clubs pick their own lineups too, so you are not the only team making decisions.

Play the matches

Matches are text commentary — readable, paced, and quick.

  • A live broadcast clock ticks through the game (including stoppage time, e.g. 45+2, 90+3).
  • Control the pace: 1x / 2x / 3x speed, pause/resume, or end the match immediately.
  • Follow the story as it unfolds: goals, big chances and saves, yellow and red cards, and injuries, with half-time and full-time beats.
  • Make substitutions during the match — and if a player picks up a serious injury, you will be prompted to bring someone on before play resumes.
  • Prefer to skip ahead? You can let fixtures simulate automatically as the calendar advances.

Follow the season

  • A league table with the full P / W / D / L / GF / GA / GD / Pts breakdown, your club highlighted.
  • A calendar that lays out your fixtures by date.
  • A knockout cup alongside the league, with its own bracket and rounds.
  • The rest of the division plays on around you — fixtures progress by date, so the world keeps moving while you focus on your club.

Build a career across seasons

  • Reach the end of a season and see the Season Complete screen: the champion, your final finish, and the full final table (or the cup bracket).
  • Start the next season and keep going — careers are not one-and-done.
  • A Season History screen records every completed season: league, champion, your finish, and your record.
  • Players develop over time between seasons, and fitness, sharpness and fatigue carry across the career, so squad rotation and rest start to matter.

A typical session

  1. Open the game, start a career, and pick your club.
  2. Head to Tactics, choose a formation, set your roles and team instructions, and save (or auto-fill).
  3. From the Club home, play your next fixture — watch it live, or speed through it.
  4. Check the table, look over your squad for tired legs and knocks, and adjust before the next game.
  5. Repeat through the season, lift (or chase) the trophy, then roll into the next campaign.

What's not in v0.1 (yet)

I want to be upfront — this is a foundation, not a finished game. The following are not in this demo and are on the roadmap:

  • Transfers, contracts, and finances
  • Training, scouting, and youth development
  • Staff, morale, and board expectations
  • Multiple leagues and deeper promotion/relegation pyramids
  • A graphical (2D/3D) match view — matches stay text-based for now

The architecture is built so these systems can attach to the existing season loop over time, rather than being bolted on as disconnected screens.

How to play

  • Runs in your browser — it is a fully local, offline app. Nothing is uploaded; your save lives on your device.
  • Free, and uses entirely fictional clubs, leagues, and players (no real-world licensing).
  • Best experienced on desktop.
  • Tip: your save is stored in the browser, so playing in a private/incognito window or clearing site data will remove your career.

Feedback wanted

This is v0.1, and the whole point of releasing early is to learn what's fun and what's missing. I would love to hear:

  • Does the match flow feel good? Too fast, too slow, too quiet?
  • Are the tactics meaningful — do your choices feel like they matter?
  • What is the first thing you wished you could do and couldn't?

Drop a comment, leave a rating, and tell me what you'd want next. Thanks for playing — see you in the next devlog. ⚽
